Our Head of Accessibility, Nir Horesh breaks down the POUR principles for #GAAD.
Ever heard of the POUR principles? Agencies and enterprises are using them to build more accessible sites. Here’s how: Perceivable: Web content should be perceivable by all users, including those with sensory disabilities. Provide content in multiple formats: alt text for images and charts, captions and transcripts for videos, and more. Operable: Everyone should be able to operate and interact with a site. Make navigation keyboard-accessible, interactive elements usable for the mobility-impaired, and avoid time limits on content, to accommodate those who may need more time. Understandable: Present content in a clear and predictable manner, with consistent navigation and labeling. Avoid using complex language that may be difficult for some to comprehend. Robust: Follow web standards and regularly test websites to ensure content is interpreted correctly by a variety of technologies--different browsers and assistive devices like screen readers and speech recognition software. These principles are the foundation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Use them to create digital experiences that are more inclusive and accessible to ALL: w3.org/TR/WCAG22/ #GAAD #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessMonth #Accessibility #a11y
